Stjarnan cruised past Grindavik to ensure the semifinal appearance. The game was mostly controlled by Stjarnan. Grindavik was better in fourth quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Grindavik 47-33 including 35 on the defensive glass. Stjarnan players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Grindavik's players. The former international point guard Aegir Steinarsson (185-91, college: Newberry, agency: Duran International) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners and American forward AJ Brodeur (206-96, college: Pennsylvania) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Kristinn Palsson (198-97, college: Marist) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Olafur Olafsson (194-90) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Grindavik players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
