Regular Season Round 36: Rouen - St-Quentin 59-100

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked SPO Rouen (11-18) was rolled over at home by second ranked Saint-Quentin (21-11) 100-59 on Sunday. Saint-Quentin dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to SPO Rouen's 32. Saint-Quentin forced 19 SPO Rouen turnovers and outrebounded them 38-21 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Saint-Quentin looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Benoit Gillet (192-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists and American point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright (180-95, college: Arizona) who added 19 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Saint-Quentin players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Benoit Injai (186-97) with 10 points and 8 assists and naturalized Algerian point guard Samir Mekdad (191-86) scored 16 points. SPO Rouen's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory Saint-Quentin went down to third position due to points difference. SPO Rouen lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 18 games lost. Saint-Quentin will face JA Vichy (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SPO Rouen will play against Saint Chamond and hope to win that game.
