Brazil clinched third position at FIBA AmeriCup. They outlasted Canada in double-overtime thriller to step onto the pedestal. Five players scored in double digits for Brazil. Taina Paixao and Clarissa dos Santos finished with 19 points each for the winners. Canada led by five points at halftime 34-29. But Brazil went on a 29-9 rally in the third term to spur ahead. Canada responded with a 25-10 run in the fourth term to force overtime. The first extra period did not reveal the winner but Brazil sank 10 points in the second one to snatch the win. Erika de Souza had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Laeticia Amihere replied with 22 points and 11 rebounds for Canada.
