Finals Game 1: Dijon - ASVEL 74-87

ASVEL have been crowned Jeep Elite Pro A champions. They overcame Dijon in the Final in Rouen tonight. The game was mostly controlled by ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket. JDA Dijon managed to win fourth quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman David Lighty (198-88, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists. The former international point guard Antoine Diot (192-89) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Belgian Hans Vanwijn (208-95, agency: Network Sports International) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Chadian power forward Jacques Alingue (203-88) added 15 points in the effort for JDA Dijon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
