Regular Season Round 2: Selfoss - Hottur 87-104

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Selfoss at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Hottur 104-87. The game was mostly controlled by Hottur. Selfoss managed to win second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Tim Guers (190-96, college: St.Anselm) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Spanish point guard Arturo Fernandez (182-90) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hottur players scored in double figures. American point guard Trevon Evans (183-95, college: Sioux Falls) produced 38 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 9 assists and Slovenian forward Gasper Rojko (200-96) added 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Selfoss' coach Chris Caird rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Hottur is looking forward to face Alftanes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Selfoss will play against IA in Akranes and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
