Regular Season Round 5: Pardubice - Nymburk 65-102

NBL top team - Nymburk (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Pardubice (2-1) 102-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pardubice. Nymburk dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Pardubice's 28. They outrebounded Pardubice 41-28 including a 33-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Nymburk looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Pardubice's players. Australian center Gorjok Gak (211-96, college: CBU) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winning side and American guard Colbey Ross (185-98, college: Pepperdine) accounted for 16 points and 8 assists. Five Nymburk players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Tomas Vyoral (192-92, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 14 points and 6 assists and forward David Pekarek (203-96, college: Fordham) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Pardubice in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nymburk have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record. Loser Pardubice dropped to the sixth position with one game lost. Nymburk will meet Usti n/Labem (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Pardubice will play against Olomoucko in Prostejov and hope to secure a win.
