But Calpe was not able to use a home court advantage and was outscored by the opponent from Gandia 98-54 on Sunday night. Gandia dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Calpe's 38. They outrebounded Calpe 45-20 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for forward Alejandro Terrades (196-1) who led the winners and scored 17 points. Center Alejandro Vera (202-97) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Gandia players scored in double figures. Guard Joaquin Crespo (189-0) came up with 6 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Gerald Colas Jr (195-91, college: Alfred) added 9 points respectively for Calpe in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gandia will meet at home Alginet B (#5) in the next round. Calpe will play against Benidorm and hopes to get finally their first victory.
