Regular Season Round 3: Mykolaiv - Ternopil-TNEU 82-87

There was a surprise result when Ternopil-TNEU (1-2) defeated on the road Mykolaiv (1-2) 87-82 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-82. It was a great evening for American guard Dayon Griffin (196-95, college: UCF) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Maksym Lutsenko (191-93, agency: BIG) helped adding 10 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Andre Walker (180-96, college: Loyola, MD) with 17 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Troy Barnies (201-89, college: Maine) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Ternopil-TNEU and four Mykolaiv players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Ternopil-TNEU will meet at home Dnipro (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mykolaiv will play against Khimik in Yuzhny and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
