There was no surprise in Barcelona where 14th ranked Zaragoza (2-4) was defeated by leader Barca (6-0) 76-63 on Wednesday. The former international power forward Pierre Oriola (208-92) stepped up and scored 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Argentinian point guard Nicolas Laprovittola (190-90) chipped in 11 points. Nigerian-American Stan Okoye (198-91, college: VMI) responded with 14 points and American center Jamel McLean (202-88, college: Xavier) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Barca. Defending champion maintains first place with 6-0 record. Zaragoza lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
