Regular Season Round 4: Stuttgart - Giessen 65-59

There was a change at the Regionalliga leadership position after last games. The most important game of round 4 took place in Stuttgart between two undefeated teams of South West where Stuttgart beat Giessen Pointers (3-1) 65-59 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Giessen Pointers. It was a key game for the top position in South West. Stuttgart forced 20 Giessen Pointers turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Greek guard Vassilis Lampropoulos (196-90) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Edward Hall who added 19 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Christopher Miller (192-93, college: Salem) responded with 14 points and Benjamin Lischka (204-89) scored 6 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stuttgart have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of South West leader, which they share with Reutlingen. Giessen Pointers at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Ansbach. Giessen Pointers will play next round against Bensheim trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Stuttgart will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked TV Langen at home.
