Regular Season Round 5: Mechelen - Aalst 71-77

Kangoeroes (2-1) recorded its first loss in Mechelen on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked Okapi Aalst (2-3) 77-71. The best player for the winners was American guard Omar Calhoun (198-93, college: UConn) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Nate Grimes (203-96, college: Fresno St., agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Myles Stephens (196-97, college: Princeton) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Kangoeroes' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Okapi Aalst moved-up to seventh place. Kangoeroes at the other side keep the fourth position with one game lost. Okapi Aalst are looking forward to face Limburg United (#10) at home in the next round. Kangoeroes will play against the league's leader Oostende (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
