Regular Season Round 4: Lyon - Besancon 70-83

Date: October 12, 2021
The game had a very big importance for twelfth-ranked Besancon as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group B. Besancon defeated much higher ranked Lyon CTC on the road 83-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lyon CTC. Besancon had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Lyon CTC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Power forward Guillaume Valayer (201-96) fired 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Tom Foucault (191-94) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Five Besancon players scored in double figures. American-Icelandic forward Michael Craion (197-89, college: ORU, agency: Inception Sports) produced 15 points and guard Theo Rey (194-0) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Lyon CTC's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted Lyon CTC still keeps top place with one game lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Lyon CTC will play next round against SOPCC trying to get back on the winning streak. Besancon will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked CFBB in Paris.
