Very expected game when 12th ranked Obradoiro (2-4) was smashed by seventh ranked Murcia (4-2) in Santiago de Comp 104-70 on Saturday. American point guard Isaiah Taylor (190-94, college: Texas) notched 21 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import James Webb III (203-93, college: Boise St.) supported him with 16 points. Four Murcia players scored in double figures. Even 16 points by American center Henry Ellenson (208-97, college: Marquette) did not help to save the game for Obradoiro. British-Canadian Thomas Scrubb (199-91, college: Carleton) added 7 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Murcia moved-up to third place, which they share with Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Loser Obradoiro dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. They share it with Andorra and Zaragoza. Murcia will meet at home Baskonia (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Obradoiro will play against Real Betis in Sevilla and hope to secure a win.
