Regular Season Round 4: Braunschweig - Chemnitz 84-93

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Braunschweig (1-3) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Chemnitz (3-1) 93-84 on Saturday. Chemnitz made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian Mindaugas Susinskas (204-95) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 assists and Canadian forward Isiaha Mike (203-97, college: SMU) who added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Chemnitz players scored in double figures. Chemnitz's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Czech center Martin Peterka (205-95) responded with 23 points and American point guard Tookie Brown (180-95, college: Georgia South) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Chemnitz moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Braunschweig lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Chemnitz will meet at home ratiopharm Ulm (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Braunschweig will play against the league's leader Brose Bamberg (#1) and hope to win that game.
