Regular Season Round 3: RSU - TTT Riga 60-72

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of RSU (1-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by TTT Riga (3-0) 72-60. The game was mostly controlled by TTT Riga. RSU managed to win third quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to RSU's 20. TTT Riga forced 19 RSU turnovers. It was a good game for Lithuanian center Daugile Sarauskaite (196-96) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. American point guard Jasmine Thomas (175-91, college: Michigan St.) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Marta Leimane (178-3) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Latvian guard Liza Cumika (181-99) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for RSU. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TTT Riga's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Riga BJBS RJ.
