Regular Season Round 7: Ternopil-TNEU - Prometey 71-82

Superleague top team - Prometey (8-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat twelfth ranked Ternopil-TNEU (2-7) 82-71. Ternopil-TNEU was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 25-4 third quarter run of Prometey. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ternopil-TNEU to just 4 points in third quarter. They made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Prometey forced 21 Ternopil-TNEU turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American swingman DJ Stephens (195-90, college: Memphis) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import guard DAngelo Harrison (193-93, college: St.John's) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. Prometey's coach Ronen Ginzburg allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Slovakian forward Marek Dolezaj (208-98, college: Syracuse, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Joe Furstinger (208-96, college: N.Mexico, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ternopil-TNEU players scored in double figures. Prometey have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. Ternopil-TNEU lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Prometey will play against Odessa (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ternopil-TNEU will play against Budivelnyk (#3) in Kyiv and hopes to get back on the winning track.
