There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked 46ers (2-3) crushed higher ranked MBC (3-2) in Giessen 100-81 on Saturday. 46ers dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to MBC's 48. American guard Kendale McCullum (194-96, college: Lewis, agency: Octagon Europe) nailed 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import power forward Phil Fayne II (201-97, college: Illinois St.) accounted for 15 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) came up with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Jamel Morris (193-92, college: Fairmont St.) added 20 points respectively for MBC in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. 46ers moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Braunschweig and Crailsheim. Loser MBC keeps the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Hamburg. 46ers will meet s Oliver Baskets (#16) in the next round. MBC will play against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#9) and hope to secure a win.
