No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Tofas (4-1) beat 8th ranked Acibadem (2-3) in Istanbul 84-73 on Saturday. Tofas looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Kasey Shepherd (189-94, college: La-Lafayette) nailed 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Elgin Cook (197-93, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Kartal Ozmizrak (189-95, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 11 points and 6 assists and Muhammed Baygul (191-92, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points respectively for Acibadem in the defeat. Acibadem's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tofas keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Pinar Karsiyaka and Fenerbahce. Loser Acibadem keeps the eighth place with three games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Tofas will meet at home Efes (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Acibadem will play against Turk Telekom in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
