Regular Season Round 7: Aalst - Leuven 68-57

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Leuven Bears (3-3) were defeated on the road by fifth ranked Okapi Aalst (4-3) 68-57 on Saturday. Okapi Aalst made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game, while Leuven Bears only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded Leuven Bears 45-31 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Omar Calhoun (198-93, college: UConn) fired 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners (made all of his seven free throws). His fellow American import forward Deontae Hawkins (203-93, college: Boston Coll., agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 4 points and 15 rebounds. Slovenian swingman Jakob Cebasek (200-91) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Joshua Heath (186-94, college: Georgia Tech) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Okapi Aalst. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Leuven Bears dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Groningen and Amsterdam. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
