There was no surprise when 5th ranked Groningen (3-3) was defeated at home by leader Den Bosch (8-0) 68-62 on Saturday. American power forward Mike Carlson (206-91, college: Truman St.) fired 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Finnish point guard Edon Maxhuni (188-98, college: LBSU) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Den Bosch's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Marquis Addison (193-91, college: MSSU) produced 25 points and 5 rebounds and guard Leon Williams (189-91) added 9 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Den Bosch. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Loser Groningen keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Leuven and Amsterdam. Den Bosch will meet at home Leeuwarden (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Groningen will play against Zwolle and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
