Regular Season Round 8: Toulouse - Poitiers 51-66

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Toulouse (5-3) lost at home to fourth ranked Poitiers (5-3) 66-51 on Friday. Poitiers forced 19 Toulouse turnovers. The winners were led by Croatian Lovro Mazalin (204-97) who scored that evening 16 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) supported him with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Even 12 points by center Yohan Solle (206-91) did not help to save the game for Toulouse. Point guard Victor Mopsus (179-99) added 6 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Poitiers moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Toulouse. Poitiers will meet at home La Rochelle (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Toulouse will play against Lorient (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
