The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Khimik's (6-5) road loss to fourth ranked Kyiv Basket (7-3) 64-102 on Sunday. The game without a history. Kyiv Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Khimik's 40 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Khimik 36-18 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kyiv Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Khimik's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Bernard Thompson (191-93, college: FGCU) who scored 18 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. International center Dmytro Skapintsev (216-98) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Kyiv Basket players scored in double figures. U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-92, college: Kent St.) produced 17 points and American forward Christian Jones (201-93, college: UNLV, agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Khimik's coach Vitaly Stepanovski gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kyiv Basket. They moved-up to third place. Khimik lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with five games lost.
