Regular Season Round 8: Wulfen - Bonn 2 82-84

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Bonn 2 and 9th ranked BSV Wulfen had identical 3-4 record. But BSV Wulfen was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Bonn 84-82 on Friday night. Strangely BSV Wulfen outrebounded Bonn 2 50-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Dutch forward Shaquille Rombley (203, college: LMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and American guard Matt Frierson (189-97, college: Citadel) who added 30 points during the contest. American point guard Bryant Allen (183-90, college: Dakota St.) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Bulgarian swingman Lyuben Paskov (196-90) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Despite that victory Bonn 2 went down to sixth position (West) due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser BSV Wulfen dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. They share the position with ETB Miners. Bonn 2 will meet higher ranked Ibbenbueren (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BSV Wulfen will play against Hertener Loewen (#5) and hope to secure a win.
