Very important is a home loss of second ranked Promitheas (4-2) against twelfth ranked Aris (2-4) on Saturday night. Host Promitheas was crushed by Aris in Patras 82-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Promitheas. Aris made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Promitheas 43-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. American forward James Kelly (202-93, college: Marshall) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-97, college: Maryland) supported him with 20 points and 5 assists. Four Aris players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by the former international forward Dimitris Agravanis (208-94, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Promitheas. American power forward Dario Hunt (204-89, college: Nevada) added 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aris moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ionikos. Loser Promitheas dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Kolossos HH and Lavrio. Aris' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Thessaloniki Iraklis.
