The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Belfast Star's (2-2) road victory over bottom-ranked DCU Saints (0-5) 67-59 on Saturday. Strangely DCU Saints outrebounded Belfast Star 50-34 including 40 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Max Cooper (198, college: Mayville St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Jonny Foulds who added 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Julius Brooks (206-90, college: Loyola, MD) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and Benjamin Durox produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Belfast Star moved-up to fourth place, which they share with UCD Marian and Killorglin. Loser DCU Saints still closes the standings with five games lost. Belfast Star will meet at home higher ranked Maree (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. DCU Saints will play against the league's leader Tralee and hope to get finally their first victory.
