Regular Season Round 7: Kalmar - IK Eos 120-93

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of IK Eos (5-1) on the court of first ranked Kalmar on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Kalmar 120-93. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of IK Eos. Kalmar dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to IK Eos' 42. They outrebounded IK Eos 38-26 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kalmar shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Sebastian Sjoberg (186-0) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Slovenian Jan Tratnik (190-89) helped adding 21 points, 10 rebounds and 15 assists. At the losing side guard Joel Svensson (185-96) responded with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Andreas Von Uthmann (197-96) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kalmar maintains first place with 8-1 record. IK Eos at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. Kalmar are looking forward to face Ockelbo (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. IK Eos will play against AIK Basket (#10) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
