Regular Season Round 10: Zalgiris II - Kretinga 83-64

Very expected game in Kaunas where 10th ranked Kretinga (4-6) was crushed by sixth ranked Zalgiris II (6-4) 83-64 on Saturday. Zalgiris II dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Kretinga's 48. They outrebounded Kretinga 37-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. Zalgiris II looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Dovydas Butka (202-3) fired 5 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Center Motiejus Krivas (213-4) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Zalgiris II's coach Vytautas Pliauga used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eimantas Zilius (201-99) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and point guard Domininkas Matutis (178-91) added 8 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Zalgiris II have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vilkaviskis. Newly promoted Kretinga dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Silute and Palanga. Zalgiris II will meet at home league's second-placed Suduva-Mantinga in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
