There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Santfeliuenc (1-5) crushed 9th ranked Palma AE (1-5) in S'Arenal 80-60 on Sunday. Santfeliuenc looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (210-87) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard David Mejia (185-0) supported him with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Santfeliuenc's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists by point guard Miquel Santandreu (184-2) did not help to save the game for Palma AE. Pep Llabres (-3) added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Santfeliuenc left bottom position moving up to ninth place in Group C-3, which they share with Palma AE and Artes. It was Palma AE's fifth loss in a row. Santfeliuenc will meet at home Andratx (#12) in the next round. Palma AE will play against Artes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
