Regular Season Round 5: Tours - ASA 73-67
Date: November 9, 2021
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Tours (4-1) won against at home 15th ranked ASA (1-4) 73-67 on Tuesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Tours outrebounded ASA 43-31 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard James Batemon (185-97, college: LMU) who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Jamaican Tyran De Lattibeaudiere (201-91, college: Lamar) chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Jerome Cazenobe (204-89) produced 8 points and 8 rebounds and Cyrille Eliezer-Vanerot (203-96) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tours moved-up to second place, which they share with Nancy and Blois. ASA at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifteenth position with four games lost. They share it with Saint Vallier and Boulazac. Tours will meet bottom-ranked SPO Rouen (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. ASA will play against Nantes and hope to win that game.
