Regular Season Round 5: Evreux - Boulazac 110-117

There was an upset when higher ranked ALM Evreux (2-3) was defeated at home by seventeenth ranked Boulazac Basket (1-4) 117-110 on Tuesday. Boulazac Basket forced 23 ALM Evreux turnovers. Strangely ALM Evreux outrebounded Boulazac Basket 55-36 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Bathiste Tchouaffe (196-98) who scored 32 points. American point guard Nicolas Moore (175-92, college: SMU) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists. Lithuanian forward Julius Kazakauskas (196-90) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Serbian Djordje Milosevic (199-93, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 19 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Boulazac Basket and four ALM Evreux players scored in double figures. ALM Evreux's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Boulazac Basket left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with Saint Vallier and ASA. Loser ALM Evreux dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Boulazac Basket will meet at home higher ranked Aix-Maurienne (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ALM Evreux will play against Saint Vallier (#16) and hope to secure a win.
