Regular Season Round 5: Lille - Saint Vallier 85-66

Everything went according to plan when eleventh ranked Lille Metropole (3-2) outscored at home 14th ranked Saint Vallier (1-4) 85-66 on Tuesday. Lille Metropole forced 20 Saint Vallier turnovers. Strangely Saint Vallier outrebounded Lille Metropole 45-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Burkinabe Jean-Victor Traore (204-85) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Center Thomas Hieu-Courtois (200-95) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. American forward Demond Watt (200-89, college: TAMUCC) produced 8 points and 15 rebounds and American-Jamaican center Ryan Rhoomes (203-92, college: Fordham) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lille Metropole moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Saint Vallier dropped to the fifteenth position with four games lost. They share it with Boulazac and ASA. Lille Metropole will meet Saint-Quentin (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Saint Vallier will play against ALM Evreux (#12) and hope to win that game.
