Regular Season Round 5: Cherno More - Levski 72-101
Date: November 12, 2021
Very expected game in Varna where 9th ranked Cherno More (1-5) was crushed by second ranked Levski (5-1) 101-72 on Friday. Levski looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Croatian power forward Ivica Radic (208-90, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. The former international Chavdar Kostov (196-88, agency: BIG) chipped in 22 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Martin Kotsev (195-98, agency: BIG) produced 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized Portuguese swingman Venelin Hristov (198-95, agency: BIG) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Levski. Defending champion maintains second place with 5-1 record having just one point less than leader Rilski. Cherno More lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Levski will meet at home Yambol (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Cherno More will play against Akademik P. in Plovdiv and hope to win that game.
