Very expected game when 9th ranked Etha (2-5) was smashed by fourth ranked Keravnos (5-2) in Strovolos 102-80 on Friday. The game without a history. Keravnos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Etha's 36 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Etha 34-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Keravnos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Deondre Burns (190-97, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) who led the winners and scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Collin Malcolm (200-97, college: WPU) accounted for 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Malcolm is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Wesley Harris (203-97, college: Tennessee St.) came up with 28 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jonah Hudson (183, college: UMPI) added 20 points respectively for Etha in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keravnos moved-up to third place, which they share with Apoel. Etha lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Apollon. Keravnos will meet Omonia (#5) in the next round. Etha will play against the league's second-placed AEK Larnaca (#2) and hope to secure a win.
