Regular Season Round 6: Quimper - St-Chamond 97-60

Saint Chamond (5-1) recorded its first loss on the court of thirteenth ranked Quimper UJAP on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Quimper UJAP 97-60. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Saint Chamond. Quimper UJAP forced 21 Saint Chamond turnovers and outrebounded them 31-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Quentin Ruel (202-99) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Johan Randriamananjara (199-0) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP's coach Laurent Foirest felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was British-Ghanian forward Akwasi Yeboah (198-97, college: Rutgers) who recorded 18 points and point guard Mathieu Guichard (187-88) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively. Quimper UJAP (3-3) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 6 other teams. Saint Chamond at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Quimper UJAP is looking forward to face bottom-ranked SPO Rouen (#18) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Saint Chamond will play against Lille Metropole (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
