Regular Season Round 8: IK Eos - AIK Basket 99-77

Bottom-ranked AIK Basket (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 99-77 loss to third ranked IK Eos (6-1) in Lund on Saturday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to AIK Basket's 28 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Andreas Von Uthmann (197-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard David Niklasson (193-95, college: N.Platte CC) who added 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. IK Eos' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Oliver Ehrnvall (203-96, college: St.Cloud St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) scored 13 points and 4 assists. IK Eos maintains third position with 6-1 record having 3 victories less than leader Kalmar. Loser AIK Basket still closes the standings with five games lost. IK Eos will meet at home Hogsbo (#4) in the next round. AIK Basket will play against the league's second-placed KFUM Uppsala (#2) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
