There was an upset when higher ranked Castello (4-4) was defeated on the road by fifteenth ranked Alicante (3-5) 87-71 on Sunday. Alicante made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Alicante outrebounded Castello 46-26 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American Gerel Simmons (188-93, college: LMU, agency: Duran International) who scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists.
