Very expected game when 13th ranked H.Izrael (1-5) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked E.Ashkelon (4-2) 85-73 on Tuesday. E.Ashkelon looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American Storm Warren (211-88, college: LSU) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international Elishay Kadir (202-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. E.Ashkelon's coach Amit Tamir used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American point guard Geoffrey Gray (188, college: Emerson) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Donte Clark (194-94, college: Texas Southern) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Four H.Izrael players scored in double figures. E.Ashkelon moved-up to third place, which they share with E.Kiryat Ata and I.Ramat Gan. Newly promoted H.Izrael dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. They share it with M.Hod Hasharon. E.Ashkelon will meet E.Kiryat Ata (#4) on the road in the next round. H.Izrael will play against M.Haifa (#11) and hope to win that game.
