Regular Season Round 5: Shumen - Levski 50-96
Date: November 17, 2021
Very predictable result when second ranked Levski (5-1) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Shumen (0-5) 96-50 on Wednesday. Levski dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Shumen's 24. Levski forced 21 Shumen turnovers and outrebounded them 48-31 including 20 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Croatian power forward Ivica Radic (208-90, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. The former international power forward Tsvetomir Chernokojev (205-0, agency: BIG) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Georgi Kenderov (200-99) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and guard Aleksandar Milov (198-95) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Levski. Defending champion maintains second place with 5-1 record having just one point less than leader Rilski. Shumen lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. Levski will meet at home Yambol (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Shumen will play against Spartak Pleven and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
