The most surprising game was the first loss of E.N. Paralimni (7-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by ninth ranked Apollon (3-5) 78-71. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of E.N. Paralimni. E.N. Paralimni trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 27-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-78 at the end of the game. Apollon had a 34-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Mike Holton Jr (186-90, college: St.Michael's) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Michael Finke (208-96, college: GCU) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Finke is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward DeAndre Dickson (206-92, college: WWU) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds and Ghanian-American guard Milan Acquaah (190-97, college: CBU) scored 27 points and 4 assists. Apollon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with APOP and Anorthosis. E.N. Paralimni at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with AEK Larnaca. Apollon is looking forward to face Etha (#11) in Nicosia in the next round. E.N. Paralimni will play on the road against Apoel (#4) in Nicosia and is hoping to win this game.
