Date: November 19, 2021
Very expected game when 8th ranked Krivbas (5-10) were defeated on the road by third ranked Kyiv Basket (10-4) 81-71 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Kyiv Basket. Krivbas managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kyiv Basket made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard Bernard Thompson (191-93, college: FGCU) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import point guard Mike Caffey (183-93, college: LBSU, agency: Players Group) helped adding 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Kyiv Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin Milos Popovic (201-98) with 8 points and 11 rebounds and international center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Krivbas' coach Sergei Korablov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kyiv Basket maintains third place with 10-4 record having four points less than leader Prometey. Krivbas lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Ternopil-TNEU and Odessa.
