Regular Season Round 7: Koroivos - Tritonas S. 97-100

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Tritonas S. (3-2) edged on the road 7th ranked Koroivos (5-3) 100-97 on Sunday. They outrebounded Koroivos 42-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84, agency: Network Sports International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Antonis Mantzaris (193-86) helped adding 20 points. At the losing side Nikos Paparegkas (200-94) responded with 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and Serbian guard Stefan Mitrovic (195-96) scored 17 points and 9 assists. Five Tritonas S. and four Koroivos players scored in double figures. Koroivos' coach Konstantinos Delegkos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tritonas S. moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted Koroivos dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Tritonas S. will meet at home league's leader Karditsas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Koroivos will play against Napfliou (#14) and hope to secure a win.
