Very predictable result when fourth ranked Zalgiris II (10-6) won against 13th ranked Neptunas-Akv. (4-11) in Kaunas 74-64 on Thursday. Zalgiris II looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for center Motiejus Krivas (213-4) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Gytis Nemeiksa (201-1) accounted for 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Center Oskaras Pleikys (202-1, agency: BIG) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Matas Vaitkus (186-0) added 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for Neptunas-Akv. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Zalgiris II. They maintain fourth place with 10-6 record. Neptunas-Akv. at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Zalgiris II will meet Delikatesas (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Neptunas-Akv. will play against Mazeikiai and hope to secure a win.
