There was an upset when higher ranked Amyntas D. (4-3) lost to tenth ranked Charilaos (3-3) in Mesolongi 65-81 on Saturday. The winners were led by power forward Dimitris Legkikas (207-95) who scored that evening 21 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Fotis Vasilopoulos (187-86) supported him with 13 points and 8 assists. Four Charilaos players scored in double figures. Even 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by Athanasios Grekas (196-96) did not help to save the game for Amyntas D.. American guard Dillon Avare (183-95, college: EKU) added 15 points and 5 assists for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Charilaos moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Tritonas S. Loser Amyntas D. dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Charilaos will meet higher ranked Koroivos (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Amyntas D.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Tritonas S..
