The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Odessa's (6-11) road loss to seventh ranked Zaporizhye (8-8) 89-101 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Zaporizhye. American guard Daeshon Francis (193-96, college: UTPB) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. American point guard Charles Callison (185-95, college: WSU, agency: Slash Sports) produced 21 points and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international Andriy Agafonov (208-86) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Odessa's coach Oleg Yushkin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Zaporizhye. They moved-up to sixth place. Loser Odessa keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Ternopil-TNEU. Zaporizhye will meet at home Khimik (#7) in the next round. Odessa will play against the league's leader Prometey in Kamianske and hope to secure a win.
