Regular Season Round 17: Dnipro - Mykolaiv 99-70
Date: December 3, 2021
Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Dnipro (9-7) outscored at home 11th ranked Mykolaiv (4-13) 99-70 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Dnipro. Mykolaiv managed to win third quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dnipro dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Mykolaiv's 26. They outrebounded Mykolaiv 41-28 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dnipro looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The best player for the winners was international center Viacheslav Kravtsov (212-87, agency: BeoBasket) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). International guard Issuf Sanon (193-99, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 18 points. American point guard Andre Walker (180-96, college: Loyola, MD) produced 17 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and guard Andriy Kozhemiakin (190-96, agency: BIG) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dnipro maintains fifth place with 9-7 record. Mykolaiv lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
