Very significant was Chantada's (#6) 24-point road victory against 7th ranked Marin in Group A-B 70-46. Chantada made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The winners were led by guard Andres Corral (182-92) who scored that evening 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Cristian Iglesias (200-94) supported him with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Chantada players scored in double figures. Chantada's coach Alberto Fafian felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by point guard Jacobo De Benito (180-90) did not help to save the game for Marin. Daniel Fernandez added 14 points and 5 rebounds. Chantada maintains sixth position in Group A-B with 8-5 record. Newly promoted Marin keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Chantada will play against Univ.Valladolid (#10) on the road in the next round. Marin will play against Leon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
