Regular Season Round 12: Bonn 2 - ETB Miners 99-92

Very expected game when 11th ranked ETB Miners (4-7) were defeated on the road by sixth ranked Bonn 2 (7-5) 99-92 on Saturday. Strangely ETB Miners outrebounded Bonn 2 47-27 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by ETB Miners' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Matt Frierson (189-97, college: Citadel) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 7 assists and 6 steals and Erik Neusel (204-0) who added 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Five Bonn 2 players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Sadiq Ajagbe (198-99) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and Bosnian-Croatian power forward Jozo Brkic (211-86, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Bonn 2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in West, which they share with Recklinghausen and Leverkusen 2. Newly promoted ETB Miners keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. Bonn 2 will meet league's second-placed Deutzer on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. ETB Miners will play against Hamm (#7) and hope to secure a win.
