Regular Season Round 8: Burgos - Ourense 80-74

Very important is a road loss of first ranked Ourense (7-1) against fifth ranked Burgos (5-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Ourense was defeated by Burgos in a tough game in Burgos 74-80. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Didac Cuevas (178-0) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Coreontae DeBerry (208-94, college: Cincinnati) who added 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Burgos players scored in double figures. Point guard Javier Marin (190-92) responded with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and American Darius Carter (201-92, college: Wichita St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Burgos maintains fifth position in Silver with 5-3 record. Loser Ourense still keeps top place with one game lost. Burgos will meet Melilla (#8) on the road in the next round. Ourense will play against the league's second-placed Zornotza (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
