Regular Season Round 9: San Salvatore - Savona 78-47

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked San Salvatore and 5th ranked Savona had identical 4-3 record. This time San Salvatore used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Savona 78-47 on Saturday night. They outrebounded Savona 43-32 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. San Salvatore looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Mounia El Habbab (186-94) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Center Adriana Cutrupi (184-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four San Salvatore players scored in double figures. San Salvatore's coach Roberto Fioretto felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Bulgarian center Hristina Tyutyundzhieva (190-93) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Lucrezia Zanetti (178-97) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. San Salvatore maintains fourth place in A2 with 5-3 record. Newly promoted Savona dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. San Salvatore will meet Civitanova (#8) in the next round.
