The game between closely ranked teams ended with 15th ranked Merkezefendi's (2-9) road loss to fourteenth ranked Turk Telekom (4-7) in Ankara 72-94 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Turk Telekom especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Canadian point guard Tyler Ennis (188-94, college: Syracuse) accounted for 17 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Latvian Rihards Lomazs (190-96) came up with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American point guard Kalin Lucas (185-89, college: Michigan St.) added 19 points respectively for Merkezefendi in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Turk Telekom moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Yalova. Merkezefendi lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with nine games lost. Turk Telekom will meet at home higher ranked Besiktas (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Merkezefendi will play against Buyukcekmece (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
